The fluted shade is 3D printed from plant-based bioplastic, which gives the surface a ridged, tactile quality that flat-shaded lamps can't reproduce. Light diffuses through the ridges into a soft golden glow rather than a uniform wash, and the curves throw rippling shadow patterns across surrounding walls and ceilings — the lamp reads as much through what it casts as what it emits.

The texture is the reason it holds attention. Smooth silhouettes look identical from every angle; this one shifts visually as you move around it, the wave pattern compressing and opening depending on your sightline. CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Dust the fluted shade with a soft dry cloth or a low-pressure air duster, working along the ridges
• Do not use water, solvents, or chemical cleaners on the printed shade
• Avoid abrasive cloths, which can scuff the printed surface
• Keep away from heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight — bioplastic can soften or warp at high temperatures
• Unplug and let the bulb cool fully before cleaning
• Use LED bulbs rather than incandescent to limit heat against the shade

HOW TO STYLE IT

Placement should account for the shadow cast, not just the lamp itself. Position it a few inches off a wall rather than flush against one, so the rippling pattern has a surface to land on — that's where half the effect lives. In a corner it throws pattern onto two walls at once.

The standard size works beside a bed, on a side table next to a sofa, or on a narrow console. The tall version needs a surface with depth: a sideboard, an entryway table, or a wider console where its proportions read correctly. Both benefit from a clear surface around them — the shade is textured enough that competing objects dilute it.

A warm white bulb at 2700K is the right choice. Cooler temperatures flatten the golden quality of the diffusion and make the bioplastic read as more synthetic than it does under warm light.
