Allium Sconce

Named for its distinctive onion-shaped inner layer, the Allium Sconce highlights designer Christopher Merchant’s expertise as a materiality-based fabricator and our studio’s innovative approach to 3D-printing technology. Its layered construction is intentionally engineered to reveal the inner form from select angles: the inner surface is printed with a matte finish, while the outer shell is tuned to be subtly transparent.

This careful calibration of print settings allows the Allium Sconce to glow with depth and dimensionality, creating a soft illumination that shifts as you move around the piece. Sculptural, modern, and richly textured, it brings a refined architectural presence to any wall while showcasing what’s uniquely possible through advanced 3D printing.
