Drum Lamp

The Drum Collection x Christopher Merchant draws from a compelling blend of industrial innovation and natural geometry. Inspired by the iconic photographic studies of Bernd and Hilla Becher, Merchant paired these images of revolutionary machinery with the highly ordered patterns found in nature.  Mushroom gills, flower petals, and refracted light. The result is a timeless lamp profile reimagined with sculptural depth and contemporary texture.

By leveraging the expressive possibilities of 3D printing, Merchant was able to fuse these influences into a form that feels both classic and modern. The Drum Collection highlights the precision, layering, and material character achievable only through additive manufacturing, transforming a familiar silhouette into a warm, architectural lighting piece. It’s a celebration of technology, craft, and the organic rhythms of the natural world.  All brought together in a modern, design-forward lamp.
