Eira Crackle Table Lamp — Amber Crackle Glass Mushroom Lamp with Brass Base
Crackle glass is made by shocking hot glass with cold water, fracturing the interior while the surface stays sealed and smooth. The result is a network of fine cracks running through the body of the material rather than across it — visible as depth, not as damage.
Under light that structure earns its place. Each fracture catches and redirects the glow, so instead of transmitting cleanly the way plain glass does, the whole surface breaks into thousands of tiny bright points. The amber tone warms it further.
The form is a mushroom: a wide domed cap over a narrower cylindrical column, both in crackled glass, both lit. That's the unusual part — most mushroom lamps light the cap and leave the stem as structure, while here the column glows too, with the internal filament visible through the fractured glass as a defined vertical line at the center.
A brass base anchors it and picks up the amber tone in the glass above.

- Fractured structure scattering light into fine bright points
- Both cap and column illuminated, unlike conventional mushroom lamps

- Brass base echoing the amber tone in the glass
- Warm amber output
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Dust with a soft dry cloth
- Clean glass with a soft cloth and a small amount of non-ammonia glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not the lamp
- Wipe the brass base with a dry soft cloth; avoid polishes, which can strip the finish
- Do not use abrasive pads on the glass or the base
- Unplug and let the bulb cool fully before cleaning
- Handle by the base rather than the cap — crackle glass is structurally sound but the cap is the widest and most vulnerable point
HOW TO STYLE IT
The lit column is what sets the placement. On a bedside table it reads at seated eye level and the internal filament is visible; higher up on a shelf you lose that and see mostly the cap. Keep it at or below eye level from where you'll be sitting.
Crackle glass needs a light source behind or within to do anything, so this is an evening object. In a bright room it reads as an amber glass form; after dark the fracture network lights up and the whole lamp changes character. Worth positioning where you'll see it at night.
The brass base sets a hardware direction. Pair with warm metals rather than chrome or nickel in the same sightline. Amber glass sits with walnut, leather, cream, and terracotta, and works against dark walls where the glow has contrast.
Give it a clear surface. The fractured surface is detailed enough that competing objects crowd it.
