One shape, repeated in a circular array. That's the whole geometry — a single 3D-printable form arranged around a central axis, which produces a shade that looks intricate while being structurally simple and strong.

The construction detail worth knowing is the living hinge. Rather than sitting on top of the base or hanging from a frame, the shade suspends midway up the base on a flexible printed joint — one continuous piece of material acting as a hinge rather than a mechanical fitting. It's a technique that only works when the part is printed as a single unit, and it's what lets the shade float at mid-height with a visible gap above and below.

That gap is why the light behaves the way it does. Illumination escapes above the shade and below it as well as through the array, producing a gradient rather than a contained pool — brighter at the middle, falling away in both directions, with shadow structure from the repeated form throughout.

HOW TO STYLE IT

The vertical gradient means this reads differently at different eye levels. On a low shelf or a coffee table you see the light escaping upward; at seated eye level on a side table you catch the full gradient across the shade. Both work, but they're different objects depending on where you put it.

Cordless is what makes it portable rather than what makes it interesting. Move it from a bedside to a bathroom, out to a table on a porch, or onto a shelf with no outlet behind it.
