Woogie Table Lamp — 3D Printed Wavy Column Lamp in Amber
A column rather than a shade on a base. The whole body is the light — a tall vertical form that narrows and swells along its height, with no separation between structure and diffuser.
The silhouette curves in and out like something thrown on a wheel and pulled off-center, and fine vertical ribbing runs the full length of it. Those ridges follow the curve, so they compress where the body narrows and spread where it widens, which is what gives the surface its movement.
Translucent amber is the reason it glows the way it does. Rather than white light passing through a neutral shade, the material itself carries color, so the output is warm at the source instead of warmed by a bulb choice. Lit from within, the entire column becomes the light source and the ribbing reads as fine vertical striping across the whole surface. The open top throws additional light upward onto a ceiling or a wall above.
Printed with visible layer structure, part of the process rather than a flaw.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Dust with a soft dry cloth or low-pressure air duster, working along the vertical ribbing
- Do not use water, solvents, or chemical cleaners on the printed surface
- Avoid abrasive cloths, which can scuff the translucent finish and dull the glow
- Keep away from heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight — printed material can soften or warp at high temperatures
- Use LED bulbs rather than incandescent to limit heat inside the column
- Unplug and let the bulb cool fully before cleaning
HOW TO STYLE IT
The vertical proportion is what makes this useful. On a bedside table, a shelf, or a stack of books, it takes almost no horizontal space while still reading at height — the opposite trade-off from a wide drum or dome shade.
The open top means it lights upward as well as out, so give it clearance above. Under a low shelf you lose that; on an open surface with wall behind it, the upward throw washes the wall and doubles the effect.
Amber is a committed color choice. It sits naturally with warm woods, terracotta, brass, and cream, and fights cool grays and blue-toned neutrals. In a room of hard neutrals it becomes the single warm element, which works if that's intentional.
Keep other ribbed or fluted lighting out of the same sightline.
